Young Pacific Leaders Workshop on Regional Security
Senior Research Fellow Merita Tuari’i is in Vanuatu to attend the Young Pacific Leaders (YPL) Workshop on Regional Security. The workshop delved into major security issues for the Pacific - and solutions to those issues from the perspective of Pacific early-career professionals. The programme also included a visit to the Pacific Fusion Centre, the only Pacific-run central hub for security information and analysis, and discussions with high-level Pacific leadership from across the Pacific security architecture. As an outcome of the workshop, participants will author articles on key security issues in the Pacific, for a compendium that will be presented to policy-makers in the USA. The workshop was organised by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and funded by the US State Department.
