TPVM participates in RESPONSE workshop

The RESPONSE Project (Reducing Single-use Plastics on Small Island Economies) is a Global Environment Facility (GEF) funded initiative, with the National Environment Service (NES) serving as the local Executing Agency. RESPONSE aims to address the growing challenge of plastic pollution in the Cook Islands by promoting sustainable alternative products and systems within the food and beverage (F&B) industry, reducing plastic waste imports, and supporting the transition to a circular economy.

To ensure gender and social safeguarding are fully integrated across all project activities, NES has recently contracted Te Puna Vai Marama (TPVM) as the project’s Gender & Social Safeguarding Adviser. The project team includes Lauren Turner, Merita Tuari’i, and Dr. Emma Powell.

On Wednesday 18 February, Lauren Turner attended the RESPONSE Inception Workshop held at Crown Beach to gain insight into project progress and to connect with stakeholders and partners as the project moves into the implementation phase.
