Pacific DataViz Challenge Introduced by SPC Outreach Lead Leo Cann‑Polydor

Leo Cann‑Polydor from the Pacific Community (SPC) visited TPVM in June to share details about the upcoming Pacific DataViz Challenge. As SPC’s Data Visualisation Officer and Outreach Advisor in the Statistics for Development Division, Leo leads the challenge and works closely with communities across the region to promote data storytelling and accessible communication.

Running from June through August, the Pacific DataViz Challenge invites participants from the Pacific and beyond to bring creativity, design, and technical skill to the task of animating Pacific data. The goal is to produce visualisations that spotlight key issues and opportunities facing Pacific peoples.

The visit sparked valuable conversations about how data can be made more meaningful and accessible. Innovative visuals have the power to turn information into insight — and insight into action. With that in mind, TPVM may well be getting involved this year… watch this space.
