New MOU: TPVM & Griffith

Te Puna Vai Mārama is excited to announce its signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Griffith University in Queensland. Since 2024, TPVM and Griffith have been teaming up on projects of mutual interest where TPVM researchers have led community consultations in the Cook Islands and co-written relevant publications from this collaborative work.

As set out by Griffith in their recent announcement of the MOU, the agreement is a “framework for culturally grounded, equitable, and impactful research, building on ongoing collaborations with Te Puna Vai Mārama across conservation, tourism, and seabed mining”.

We’re proud to be working with Griffith on ongoing projects to do with the use of Q-methodology and the exploration of new research initiatives. We look forward to sharing more with our stakeholders and partners in time.

Professor Chris Fleming of the Business School at Griffith University and the research lead with whom TPVM has worked most closely.
